This is one of the more beautiful necklace chains we have seen. At .5mm, it is very delicate to handle, and the clasp takes small fingers to use. That being said, it is of very high quality and looks very nice with a smaller pendant.

Don't buy this necklace for your teenage girl to wear to keep her rings on for P.E.

That was exactly the reason I got this necklace, and it broke in just over 2 months of every day wear (11/16 - 1/19, and that included a 3 week school break). The 0.5mm width of the chain just isn't strong enough to handle any weight on it, or frankly every day wear. I am going to go with the .8mm or even the 1mm+ width from now on.

The necklace itself is very pretty, and it catches the light quite nicely and sparkles and everything. She was delighted to get it. My own fault for buying a thinner one. I just didn't know how thin .5mm really was, nor did I know the practical tensile strength of white gold when worn as a chain. It turns out, it isn't very high.

Interesting note, it was the chain itself that broke, not the clasp. The chain got twisted, and then bent, and that was what allowed it to snap.

As cheap as the necklace is, it really isn't a "for special occasions only" piece of jewelry, so I was expecting at LEAST 6 months out of it. That was why I docked it 1 star. If you buy it expecting to only wear it for special occasions, and not to P.E. class, or to carry rings on, then you should most likely have no problems with it.

If I was rating it for every day wear for active teenage girls, I would give it 2/5 stars instead. But to be fair to the maker, I am rating it for everyone, so it gets 4/5 stars with the above warning firmly in place.

The chain is nice but a little too light. I was looking for a thin chain, but this chain is very very thin and light. I wory that it may break. I am returning it.

This is a beautiful, sparlking chain, but so thin I decided I couldn't give it as a gift. Lucky me. I have a new chain.

I bought my girlfriend a heart pendant necklace with 5 diamonds along the side, and the chain that came with it kept getting tied in knots and I had it in for warranty repair twice within 6 months. This chain exceeded my expectations of quality and I couldn't be happier. It's very thin but strong, and it glimmers at every angle. And best of all, it doesn't get tangled or knot up. It practically brought my girlfriend to tears when she saw it, I couldn't be happier!
